Shoulder-high we bring him home
By: Sean | May 29th, 2008
I had this lovely dream yesterday. In it, the most successful US striker ever decided that captaining and leading the line for a Premiership team was all well and good, but what he (and his family) really needed was ready access to Old Style brau and real deep-dish pizza.
In the dream, he joined a club already playing well. The club went on to win everything. The striker was covered in glory. Everyone celebrated with a pie and some Old Style.
In the real world, apparently, Frank Klopas is making it happen. Incredible. I’m struggling to hold onto my pessimism here.

How is this going to happen? Either McBride is willing to return and play for less then $400k, or Chicago will have to make a trade for an additional DP spot. And, Chicago would have to leap frog the 10 teams in front of them on the allocation list.

Word, Toronto is at the top of that list. So Chicago has to give them something real niiice. My guess is if McBride wants to come back and he wants Chicago, Garber will figure something out but Toronto is gonna make bank off of this for sure.

Boy wouldnt it be poetic justice to see TFC trade its major allocation to the Bulls and have hauptman try to pry McBrides rights off OUR hands.

San Jose was at the top of that list until they signed Jean “busted knee” Phillipe. I’m sure SJ fans aren’t bitter at all…
I think McBride said he’d prefer Chicago or Columbus? Or are those names popping up cause he used to play there and/or he’s from there?
