Photos from Fire-FC Dallas

A 2-1 defeat, with the first half looking a bit too much like last week’s second half. But we were not as bad overall. A dodgy PK for their first goal. 14 Fire corners, 1 shot on target? And how many Fire shots hit the woodwork? We played aggressive in the second half, at least, and a draw probably would have been a fair result. Still, three defeats in a row is three defeats in a row, and the pressure cooker on coach Dave Sarachan undoubtedly gets turned up a notch.

Below are some pics. First up, the Mega-damn-bandanera!

Oh yes, it was an ESPN game.

Considering the events on the field, I’m kind of glad my view was obscured.

Too much lateral passing?

At least Section 8 showed up.

This was a painful game to watch. It made me realize that I really, really, really don’t like Dallas. They have no talent. They have no skill. They plod along like Kenny Freakin’ FrankenCooper. And yet they still win their flippin’ games! What’s UP with that?

On the flip side, I really, really like both Justin Mapp and Calen Carr. And I like Carr despite the fact that I generally don’t like boys whose features are far prettier and more delicate than my own. He’s that good.

Take heart. You’re better than this loss.

Carr’s a bit of enigma. Sometimes he looks very dangerous, sometimes he seems to lack the basics. I think it’s a good idea to give him a few starts, though, and find out for sure if he’s any good.

And yes, Dallas can go to hell.
