Word is he’s training with the Fire, with a view to sign. I’ve no more information than that, and here’s hoping he’s less of an arsehole than Marcelo Salas was earlier this season. Beyond that, enjoy some of his old goals and dream of him linking up with Blanco!

  I thought he fell off the face of the earth after his team crapped out of the World Cup last summer. The Fire would be crazy to sign him for anything more than a one year deal. Heck, that might even be too long.

  I agree that signing Wanchope to anything more than a one year deal would be a big risk as he has had trouble scoring consistently as of late. But, he is the type of guy that could help out and potentially thrive in the MLS for a few years.
