Of course he should. And his jersey should be hanging in on the East side of the stadium, which it is. It's a good thing the Ring of Fire is decided by current members.

Honestly, to me this post was mostly about Peter Wilt, who, in my mind, should still be the general manager/technical director of the Chicago Fire.

All this talk from Red Bull of Hauptman being somehow a vindictive ignoramus (although I don't really see the why we, from a strategic standpoint, would give up the rights to two players scouted by a conference rival's couch) has put me in a surprising mood: I'm not sure I'm happy Guppy's gone.

Look at it this way: To a very large group of people in New York's fanbase, Hauptman has been showing himself to be an idiot in running the Fire. Now, I'd always thought it was a stupid argument on their part, but now Guppy's been forced out. Even though I think Guppy's an idiot who couldn't run a soccer team into the ground, I have to wonder if maybe those idiotic Red Bulls fans might have a more neutral view on our new owner. Maybe, in fact, Andrew H. is not what we want.

Something to ponder and hope for quick resolution.
