Fire news updates
By: Tom | May 24th, 2007Just some quick hits, no time to write anything substantial before the game tonight against the Red Bulls (6pm CT).
- Justin Mapp was named in Bob Bradley’s US squad for the Gold Cup. Chris Rolfe was not included. Not sure if this is due to his injury or not.
- And speaking of Rolfe’s injury, it looks like he’s out of the picture again tonight.
- One of the Fire’s first round picks from the 2007 MLS Superdraft, Jerson Monteiro, was finally cleared by immigration and is now eligible to play for the Fire. Could be a good burst of energy for a team that has looked lackluster lately.
- A Brazilian on trial with the Fire, William Oliviera, has finally signed. Is he any good? No idea.
- The epidemic of MLS banner-stealing has reached new heights and has spread to Canada.
