Delightful news: MLS is awesome. Tell a friend.

We’ve still got a game to go today, and the Texas Bloodbath tomorrow (en español, even), and Week 2 is the bomb.

I’m not going to spend a lot of time waxing poetic about the Fire’s 4-0 lambasting of New England. Not gonna. Today’s games take the prize here:

- Kansas City demonstrated why everyone’s high on them, as Jimmy Conrad rewarded his sizable posse with a pair of set-piece goals. The two goals came like three minutes apart, and both were off the right foot of Carlos Marinelli. And then Scott Sealy scrambled home a scrappy winner in the 88th, allowing the fantastic-looking Cauldron to go insane. Awesome.

- It’s not like Colorado spent the afternoon weeping into their Wilman Conde-model crying towel. After falling behind 2-0 in the second half, the Rapids clawed back a pair of goals to set up the denouement.

- DC United showed why they’re everyone’s favorite to roll with a 4-1 caning of Toronto. Santino Quaranta’s renaissance continues with a goal and an assist. Gallardo’s first gol. Moreno gets a goal in a sub role. And Mo Edu scores as a consolation to all of Canada, who can use their Wilman Conde-model crying towel when they realize their only consolation is courtesy of a young American. Nice!

- frigginredbullswonontheirgimmickyastroturfjunk. Echeverry-Angel combo looks deadly. Please send me one Wilman Conde-model crying towel.

Wrapping up the weekend: RSL is better, but Chivas is one of the league’s elite. And Dallas is starting to put together an incredible midfield, but they can’t seem to finish the deal against the two-time champs.

For the record, I’d put the Toja-Roja-Richetti midfield triangle as potentially the best in the league. That ‘p’ word in there seems to be Dallas’ problem, eternally.
