Someone stole the Fire’s Full Power

By: Tom | May 18th, 2007

No, I’m not talking about the sudden disappearance of the Fire’s form on the field. I mean someone stole the huge and brilliant banner below after last night’s game:

Full Power

That banner cost a lot of money to make, and it’s one of the many extensive efforts by Section 8 that give Fire games a unique flavour. That won’t last if such disrespect is shown.

If you were at the game and saw or know anything, please follow this link to help Section 8 Chicago. There will be no questions asked on the return of the banner, and there’ll be plenty of beer (as befits the banner) for anyone with information leading to its recovery.

That must have taken some effort to sneak out. Shocking.

How the hell did security not notice someone walking off with this banner? It’s enormous!

The security continually fails to do their jobs and show no concern for fans, only covering their asses. Disgraceful.

The fans who would take Fire fan property too - disgraceful.

Well, this is in line with the craptacular performance fo the team last night. They don’t deserve to have a “Full Power” message displayed. Have we even beat Dallas once in the last five years?

(not condoning the theft - it is awful given the time, effort, and cash those guys put into their beautiful stuff that really supports the team, and someone should have noticed this when it walked)

Wasn’t it banner night at Toyota Park? Maybe someone got confused and thought that meant you go take home any banner in sight. What one would actually do with a banner that large is another question…

The security issue definitely needs to be addressed. I’m sure Section 8 Chicago will do all they can, but it sounds like there may be fewer banners spread around the stadium for now.

Toyota Park management need to get their head out of their arse, it seems to me. They should be proactive in helping Section 8 Chicago, since without S8, the stadium would be completely dead.

Note to self: next time in Chicago, steal their banner and return it for beer.

Just kidding…that really sucks. I hope you get it back and it isn’t damaged.
