Calen Carr, Good Guy
By: Tom | August 2nd, 2007
Calen Carr has taken a bit of heat on this blog from time to time, particularly in the comments. As I’ve mentioned, it’s tough to blame a guy when he’s clearly trying hard, but he can be frustrating to watch: sometimes, he’s like a devilish whippet with the ball, yet at other times, a strong gust of wind seems to unbalance him. Overall, I’d like to see him stick around and develop (perhaps as a winger), if more in the reserves and off the bench for now (with Wanchope and Rolfe around to learn from).
I’d also like to recognise that he is one classy guy: remember the black headband he twirled after scoring on Saturday? Well, it was black (he usually wears white) in remembrance of Brandon Kitchens, the Fire fan and Section 8 regular whose passing we discussed yesterday. Nice touch, Calen.

Well, I won’t say it, because you know what I’m going to say anyways
. But I wasn’t aware of the black/white switch. That is indeed classy.Posted from

Calen Carr is a GREAT guy. He stayed around after the Celtic fans and signed autographs for my nephews. He has missed many goals by inches this year and you can see it hurts him when this happens. The Fire need to keep this player around.
