School Night Out! And chat with Chris Rolfe!
By: Tom | May 17th, 2007
Did you like the exclamation points in the headline? I’m trying to be more positive these days. After all this adventure into MLS and the Fire is supposed to be fun. Though it is true I attend a university where students wear t-shirts that say “The University of Chicago” on one side and “Where fun comes to die.” on the back. Which is only a slightly more politely truthful saying than one other popular choice (right).
So sometimes it’s hard to stay positive on this campus. But tonight is school night at the Fire! $5 off tickets for all students, which means $10 for Section 8 – let’s get out to Toyota Park and have fun! Or whatever it is University of Chicago kids do when they actually get out of Hyde Park. And my question of the day: are there actually any other U of C Fire fans out there? (I’ve never met one) Is it an insurmountable problem that our school colour, maroon, clashes with Fire red?! Or that getting from Hyde Park to Toyota Park would take approximately seventeen years by public transportation?
Moving on. By the way, you can chat with Chris Rolfe today on ESPN.com right now (1pm onwards CST).
Update! From the horse’s mouth:
Mike (Chicago): Chris – First things first, please tell me you’re playing tonight?!
Chris Rolfe: I am still questionable as of right now. we will make that decision tonight at the stadium.

Oh, and about that game tonight. I won’t have time to write a preview as I’m working all day ahead of going to the park. So check out what the official site and the Chicagoist have to say instead. And let’s hope it’s not a case of “Toyota Park: Where Good Soccer Comes to Die.”
