Recent Blanco video

By: Tom | April 11th, 2007

Many of the complaints about the Blanco signing revolve around the belief he has “lost it” at the age of 34 and after some serious injury woes. The below video, which I came across courtesy of Section 8, shows highlights of a recent Club America victory in which Temo set-up two goals (I’m still not sure I can start saying ‘assists’ yet, but I’ll try soon).

The video, albeit a selection of his best moments against one of the weaker Mexican league teams, suggests he’s lost neither his technical skills nor his ability to drive the ball past defenders at will. The move he makes to beat an opponent at the 40-second mark is simply outrageous, and a Mapp-Blanco-Rolfe forward line would surely be too much for most MLS defenses to handle.

Looks more exciting to watch than Beckham. Might actually get me to watch a MLS match.
