Blanco’s last goal for Club America (video); Welcome to the Fire!

By: Tom | May 28th, 2007

Club America bowed out of the Mexican championship last night, but not before Blanco scored a cracking free-kick for his final goal as an Eagle (video below). The player Mexican commentators have been calling FireEagle for some months will soon head to the U.S. for the Gold Cup in June, and will then join the Fire in July.

And if he has any goals like that one from last night left in his locker, following the Fire will soon be a lot more fun than it has been lately; beats watching Chad Barrett run into people, anyway.

Also, though it’s a shame for Blanco that America fell short in the latter stages of both the Clausura and the Copa Libertadores, at least he’ll have a little rest. Welcome, Temo.
