Blanco - The Ugly
By: Tom | April 1st, 2007
OK, that’s not actually a picture of Cuauhtémoc Blanco himself, just a devoted fan imitating his idol. To find out what Blanco really looks like, show up at Toyota Park tomorrow to meet the Fire’s new signing. Here’s the press release:
Mexican soccer icon Cuauhtémoc Blanco Bravo (pronounced: quaw-TEH-mok), renowned striker for Club América of the Mexican First Division, will be in Chicago Monday evening to meet fans of both the acclaimed forward and his new club, the Chicago Fire of Major League Soccer.
Blanco will be introduced to Chicago Fire fans at a special presentation at TOYOTA PARK beginning at 7:00 p.m. CT, with Fire players Chris Armas and Diego Gutierrez on hand to welcome the team’s star acquisition. Admission and parking are free, with gates opening at 6:30 p.m. and parking in the east lot (enter through S2 entrance) opening at 5 p.m. CT.

Hey man, you’re doing a good job with this.
I’ve been covering it for my other blog but over at the Offside’s Mexico blog I’ve stayed away from it because there’s so much other stuff to write about.
Keep up the good work.

Thanks Chris. I don’t actually know a great deal about Mexican soccer, so please do chime in on here anytime on the great Blanco debate.
